This policy explains what information The Plant Institute Inc. collects through plantinstitute.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. Effective date: January 15, 2026.

The Plant Institute Inc. ("we", "us", "our") is a Utah 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, EIN 92-3514746, located at 2247 W 6200 S, Taylorsville, UT 84129. plantinstitute.org is our official website. Questions about this policy: info@plantinstitute.org.
Information we collect
We collect only the information you voluntarily provide through our contact and analysis-request forms. This is limited to your name, email address, phone number (optional), property location, and any notes you choose to include. Form submissions are processed by Netlify Forms and delivered to our staff by email.
We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking, third-party analytics, or fingerprinting scripts. Our web host records standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user-agent) for security and reliability purposes; these logs are retained for up to 90 days.
How we use your information
- To respond to your specific inquiry, analysis request, or partnership question.
- To send program updates you have specifically opted into, such as our monthly Utah Water Report newsletter.
- To perform the internal reporting required of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not send unsolicited marketing outside of newsletters you have opted into.
Third-party services
Our site uses these third-party services strictly to deliver the site: Netlify (web hosting, form processing), Google Fonts (typography), and Unsplash (hotlinked stock imagery). These providers may collect standard technical data (IP address, request headers) as required to serve the site. Their privacy policies apply to that data.
Data retention
Form submissions are retained for as long as needed to serve you, and archived for our internal records. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@plantinstitute.org.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email info@plantinstitute.org. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
